Creating opportunities for yourself is key! This week, I’d like for you to think about the kinds of opportunities (or options) you’d like available to yourself both during and after completing your PhD. For example, you may be certain that you’d like to pursue a career in academia as faculty at a research-intensive university. However, securing this type of position is tough (securing any position is tough!). So, I encourage the students I work with to identify a range of opportunities to which they’d be open upon graduation.
